Overview

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1767 (LINC01767) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed on chromosome 1 (locus 1p32.2) that does not encode a protein[1][3][5]. Also known as CRLM1 (colorectal liver metastases lncRNA 1), LINC01767 is implicated in the regulation of cell proliferation, stemness, and metastatic potential in liver-related malignancies. In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), LINC01767 shows *downregulation* in tumor tissues compared to normal tissue, functions as a tumor suppressor, and its overexpression inhibits cancer cell proliferation and clonogenicity. Notably, it is associated with cancer stemness, correlates with stem cell marker expression, and demonstrates potential as a prognostic and diagnostic biomarker that outperforms traditional markers such as AFP. In colorectal cancer (CRC), particularly in metastatic forms, LINC01767/CRLM1 promotes liver metastasis by interacting with the hnRNPK protein, enhancing metastatic gene activation and inhibiting apoptosis. LINC01767 expression profiles are tissue- and cancer-type dependent and may also inform predicted drug resistance or sensitivity to agents such as rucaparib, lapatinib, and erlotinib[2]. There is no evidence that LINC01767 serves as a traditional drug target, receptor, or enzyme, but it remains a subject of active research as a regulatory RNA and biomarker.
