Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1803 (LINC01803) is a human long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA) gene that produces RNA transcripts longer than 200 nucleotides, which do not overlap with protein-coding regions. LINC01803, like other lincRNAs, is thought to regulate gene expression through mechanisms such as local chromatin remodeling, modulation of transcriptional activity, and stabilization of coding and non-coding transcripts. Though some lincRNAs have well-established functional roles—including in cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, immune response, and cancer—most, including LINC01803, remain poorly functionally characterized. LINC01803 is currently annotated in human gene databases and has no documented protein product, drug interactions, or direct use as a biomarker for clinical patient selection. As a member of the lincRNA family, it may participate in tissue-specific gene regulation and is part of the rapidly expanding investigation into non-coding RNAs and their roles in development and disease.
