LINC01816 is a long intergenic non-protein coding RNA (lncRNA) implicated primarily in gene regulation through microRNA (miRNA) interactions, often acting as a "sponge" for specific miRNAs such as miR-34c-5p. In thyroid carcinoma, its overexpression promotes migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) by modulating the miR-34c-5p/CRABP2 axis. Upregulation of LINC01816 has been associated with poor prognosis in several cancers.
