Overview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1857 (LINC01857) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) implicated in various human cancers. It does not code for a protein but acts primarily as a regulator of gene expression through interactions with microRNAs (such as miR-197-3p and miR-19a-3p) and participation in ceRNA networks, modulating the expression of oncogenic proteins like AGR2 and SMOC2. LINC01857 is frequently overexpressed in cancerous tissues compared to normal tissues, and elevated levels are linked to enhanced cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and suppression of apoptosis.
