Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1900 (LINC01900)

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1900 (LINC01900) is a long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA), meaning it is a >200 nucleotide transcript that does not overlap protein-coding regions and is not translated into protein. lincRNAs, including LINC01900, typically regulate gene expression at the epigenetic, transcriptional, or post-transcriptional level and can fine-tune genes in a tissue- or context-specific manner. LINC01900 itself has no known direct coding potential or established therapeutic relevance. It was identified in a novel gene fusion (LYN::LINC01900) associated with a rare subtype of acute myeloid leukemia that carried a TP53 mutation, but the biological significance of this fusion remains to be established. LINC01900 is not considered a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor or enzyme.
