Overview

LINC01919, also known as Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1919, is a human lincRNA gene. LincRNAs constitute a subclass of non-coding RNAs longer than 200 nucleotides, transcribed from genomic regions that do not overlap with protein-coding genes. LincRNAs in general have diverse functions, such as regulating gene expression epigenetically (for example, by recruiting chromatin modifiers or influencing transcription). However, most individual lincRNAs remain poorly characterized, and the specific biological function, molecular mechanism, disease association, and therapeutic relevance of LINC01919 have yet to be elucidated in the literature or major gene databases. LINC01919 is correctly annotated as a non-coding transcript, but is not currently recognized as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or drug-interaction point. Long intergenic non-coding RNAs can act as transcriptional regulators, epigenetic modifiers, or cell signaling modulators, but specific evidence for LINC01919 is lacking. Other lincRNAs have been implicated in disease, especially in cancer or cell cycle biology, but no published role is described for LINC01919. LINC01919 appears in gene databases as a valid lincRNA, but without curated functions, interacting drugs, or clinical biomarker status.
