LINC01922 (Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1922) is a human gene encoding a long intergenic non-coding RNA (commonly categorized as a lincRNA)[1][3]. These molecules are transcribed RNA sequences longer than 200 nucleotides that do not overlap protein-coding genes and are generally thought not to code for proteins[1][5][7]. lincRNAs, including LINC01922, participate in a diversity of regulatory functions: they can modify chromatin, regulate genome architecture, stabilize and modulate other RNAs, act as molecular scaffolds for proteins, and fine-tune gene expression, often with marked tissue specificity[5][7].
