Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1943 (LINC01943) is a member of the long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA) family, transcribed as a non-coding RNA greater than 200 nucleotides and does not overlap with protein-coding loci[1][5][3]. LINC01943 has been identified as part of prognostic models for melanoma, where its elevated expression is a protective factor associated with improved overall survival[2]. It also marks regulatory T cells within the PDAC tumor microenvironment, suggesting involvement in immune modulation within cancers[6]. While the detailed molecular function of LINC01943 itself remains unexplored and its gene regulatory mechanisms are not defined, its inclusion in cancer prognostic panels and cell-type specificity add to its emerging relevance in cancer biology. There are currently no drugs known to directly target LINC01943, and its role is limited to non-coding RNA-based biomarker or prognostic applications.
