Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2028 (LINC02028)

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2028, abbreviated as LINC02028, is a non-coding RNA gene in humans that does not encode a protein. As a member of the lincRNA class, it is transcribed as a long RNA (>200 nucleotides) that does not overlap with protein-coding genes. lincRNAs—including LINC02028—are generally thought to regulate gene expression through epigenetic, transcriptional, or post-transcriptional mechanisms, but for most lincRNAs only limited functional and clinical data are available, and no direct roles have been established for LINC02028 in disease, therapy, or as a clinical biomarker. There are currently no drugs known to target this molecule, and it is not considered a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter.
