Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2112 (LINC02112), also known as CTD-2143L24.1, is a member of the long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA) family. LincRNAs are defined as autonomously transcribed RNA molecules longer than 200 nucleotides that do not overlap protein-coding genes. They are primarily involved in chromatin remodeling, regulation of transcription, RNA stabilization, and modulation of gene expression, often in a tissue-specific manner. Most lincRNAs do not encode proteins and their functions can include acting as molecular scaffolds or modulating signaling pathways, although the biological role of many individual lincRNAs, including LINC02112, remains poorly characterized. There is currently no evidence that LINC02112 is a clinically established therapeutic target, nor are there approved drugs or biomarkers directly related to it. The field is evolving, and lincRNAs are increasingly recognized as important regulators in gene expression and potentially in human disease, but the specific functions and disease associations of LINC02112 have yet to be firmly established[1][3][7].
