Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2136 (LINC02136) is a member of the long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA) family in humans. LINC02136 is transcribed as an RNA molecule longer than 200 nucleotides and does not encode a protein. LincRNAs are increasingly recognized for their diverse functions in gene regulation, including chromatin remodeling, transcriptional regulation, enhancer-associated activity, and stabilization of transcripts. These molecules are often tissue-specific and may influence neighboring gene activity through multiple mechanisms, but only a small fraction of them have been functionally characterized in detail. There is no evidence that LINC02136 itself is currently a clinically relevant disease driver or a direct drug target. In summary, LINC02136 is a canonical example of a human lincRNA gene, not a conventional therapeutic target, and with standard non-coding RNA functions but no established clinical applications at this time.
