Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2148 (LINC02148)

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2148 (LINC02148) is a human long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene located intergenically and does not encode a protein[3][5][7]. It has been also referred to as "HNCAT21," "CTD-3179P9.2," and "head and neck cancer-associated transcript 21".[7] LINC02148 is part of the lncRNA class of regulatory molecules, and its specific biological roles are currently not well-characterized. Preliminary associations have been described between LINC02148 and head and neck cancers, suggesting it may be relevant in tumor biology or gene regulation in these contexts, but it is not considered a direct therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or kinase[7].
