Overview

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2195 (LINC02195) is a nuclear and cytoplasmic long non-coding RNA implicated in immune regulation within the tumor microenvironment. It is highly expressed in certain immune-rich tissues such as the appendix, esophagus, lymph node, stomach, and thyroid, and notably overexpressed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) compared to normal tissue. Functionally, LINC02195 positively regulates major histocompatibility complex class I (MHC I, including HLA-A, -B, and -C), enhancing antigen processing and presentation pathways and is associated with increased infiltration of CD8^+^ and CD4^+^ T lymphocytes within tumors. High LINC02195 expression is linked to improved prognosis in HNSCC. Although not currently a direct drug target, LINC02195 represents a candidate prognostic biomarker and a putative future immunotherapeutic target due to its critical role in modulating the anti-tumor immune response.
