Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2199 (LINC02199) is a human lincRNA gene that gives rise to a long, autonomously transcribed non-coding RNA molecule longer than 200 nucleotides which does not overlap protein-coding genes[1][3][9]. LincRNAs in general are often involved in chromatin remodeling, transcriptional and gene expression regulation, and show tissue-specific expression[3][9]. Only a small fraction of annotated lincRNAs have been functionally characterized, and there is no specific published evidence linking LINC02199 to a defined biological process, disease, or therapeutic application[1][3][5][9]. LINC02199 is not an enzyme, receptor, transporter, or classical therapeutic target. Its function, clinical significance, or role in disease remains uncharacterized at present[1][3][9].
