Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2210 (LINC02210) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located on human chromosome 17. It does not encode a protein, but instead may function in the regulation of gene expression or RNA metabolism. Increased expression in pancreatic β-cells suggests a possible role in insulin sensitivity. Genome-wide association studies have linked genetic loci overlapping LINC02210 to various phenotypes, including red blood cell traits, primary biliary cirrhosis, intelligence, and mathematical ability. LINC02210 is not currently considered a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or similar tractable protein, but serves as a potential locus of interest for biomarker and disease association studies[1][5][7][10][11].
