Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2225 (LINC02225) is a large, non-coding RNA molecule transcribed from regions of the human genome that do not overlap annotated protein-coding genes[1][3]. LINC02225 is part of the long non-coding RNA family and may regulate gene expression via epigenetic mechanisms, modulation of chromatin accessibility, or effects on RNA and protein interactions. While its full biological function is not completely elucidated, recent bioinformatics and machine learning studies have identified LINC02225 and similar lincRNAs as promising non-invasive biomarkers for the diagnosis of lung cancer, based on their differential expression in tumor tissue and blood. No direct drug interactions or established therapeutic interventions currently exist for LINC02225, but it is under investigation as a molecular target for future studies in oncology[2][3].
