Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2256 (LINC02256) is a member of the long intergenic non-coding RNAs (lincRNAs). LincRNAs are autonomously transcribed non-coding RNAs longer than 200 nucleotides that do not overlap protein-coding genes[5][3]. LincRNAs play diverse regulatory roles in gene expression, including impacting chromatin structure, modulating genome architecture, stabilizing RNA, and influencing transcriptional activity, sometimes through enhancer-like functions[5]. LincRNAs exhibit tissue specificity and may regulate neighboring or distal genes via both sequence-dependent and -independent mechanisms. Though many lincRNAs are believed to fine-tune biological processes and pathways (including in cancer, cell cycle, and metabolism), there are no specific data linking LINC02256 to a particular therapeutic role or disease mechanism at this time[3][5]. There are currently no drugs known to target LINC02256, nor is it considered a validated therapeutic target.
