Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2282 (LINC02282) is a human lincRNA gene transcribed from chromosome 14 (coordinates: 28,782,819-28,785,937, reverse strand)[5][11]. LINC02282 belongs to the class of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), specifically those located in intergenic regions thus not overlapping with protein-coding genes. LincRNAs often regulate gene expression through diverse mechanisms, including recruitment of chromatin modification complexes, acting as scaffolds or guides for protein complexes, and modulating transcription or epigenetic states[2][6][9]. While LINC02282 itself has not been clearly characterized functionally or therapeutically, the general class of lincRNAs is being actively investigated for roles in gene regulation and disease, including cancer. No drugs or established biomarker uses have been reported for LINC02282. Disease-association data lists glioma susceptibility as a potential association, but supporting mechanistic or therapeutic data for this specific gene is currently lacking[7].
