Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2288 (LINC02288) is a long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA) characterized by being longer than 200 nucleotides and not overlapping with protein-coding genes[1][3]. LincRNAs, including LINC02288, can influence gene expression through various mechanisms such as chromatin remodeling, transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation, and RNA stabilization. These RNAs are often highly tissue-specific and can function by regulating neighboring genes through both sequence-dependent and sequence-independent mechanisms, including enhancer-like activities. While a small fraction of lincRNAs have been linked to roles in human disease, there are currently no direct reports establishing LINC02288 as a therapeutic target or disease marker[1].
