Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2292 (LINC02292) is a member of the long intergenic non-protein coding RNA (lincRNA) family, characterized as an autonomously transcribed non-coding RNA longer than 200 nucleotides that does not overlap with annotated protein-coding genes[1][3]. LincRNAs, including LINC02292, regulate gene expression at transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels through various mechanisms such as chromatin remodeling, RNA stabilization, protein scaffolding, and acting as enhancers. They display notable tissue and cell-type specificity and can modulate neighboring gene activity in both sequence-dependent and sequence-independent manners. While many lincRNAs have been implicated in diverse biological processes and, in some cases, diseases such as cancer, there is currently no evidence that LINC02292 itself functions as a therapeutic target, nor are there known drugs or biomarker roles specifically tied to it[1][3][5].
