Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2323 (LINC02323) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) implicated in the pathogenesis and metastasis of certain cancers, particularly lung adenocarcinoma and lung squamous cell carcinoma[1][2][3]. It functions as a competing endogenous RNA, sponging microRNAs such as miR-1343-3p and miR-6783-3p, thereby allowing the upregulation of oncogenic proteins including TGF-β receptor 1 and L1CAM[1][2]. LINC02323 plays a role in promoting epithelial-mesenchymal transition, cancer cell migration, invasion, and maintenance of cancer stem cell features. Its high expression correlates with poor prognosis in lung cancer patients and it is being studied as a potential prognostic marker and therapeutic target in metastatic cancer[1][2][4].
