Overview

LINC02350 (Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2350) is a long non-coding RNA gene transcribed from an intergenic region in the human genome. It does not encode a protein but instead produces an RNA molecule that may participate in regulatory functions such as chromatin remodeling, transcriptional regulation, and maintenance of nuclear architecture. Like other lincRNAs, it is hypothesized to fine-tune gene expression with tissue specificity. LINC02350 has been identified by bioinformatic methods as a candidate biomarker for the diagnosis of lung cancer due to its differential expression in cancer versus normal tissue, but its clinical utility and precise biological roles remain to be experimentally validated.

04

Disease associations

Potential as a biomarker in cancer (especially lung cancer), based on bioinformatics analyses identifying lincRNAs (including LINC02350) as differentially expressed and useful for predicting lung cancer diagnosis.Specific disease roles for LINC02350 remain unclear due to limited experimental validation; however, the lincRNA family is broadly involved in cancer and immune response regulation.
05

Safety considerations

None directly reported.Therapeutic targeting of lincRNAs is uncommonly pursued, and the clinical impact of modulating LINC02350 activity is unknown.
06

Biomarkers

LINC02350 has been proposed as a diagnostic biomarker candidate in lung cancer, as part of a panel of lncRNAs that showed high sensitivity and specificity for discriminating tumor from normal samples in bioinformatic analyses.
