Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2358 (LINC02358)

LINC02358 (Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2358) is a human long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA) gene producing RNA molecules longer than 200 nucleotides that do not overlap any protein-coding genes. Like other lincRNAs, LINC02358 is expected to function primarily in regulation of gene expression, including chromatin remodeling, transcriptional regulation, and possibly enhancer-like activity. LincRNAs have been shown to exert tissue-specific effects, often modulating neighboring gene expression in both cis and trans. While some lincRNAs have well-described roles in cancer and other diseases, there is no direct evidence that LINC02358 itself is a validated therapeutic target, interacts with drugs, or has characterized mechanisms of pharmacological action or biomarker utility at present. It remains an RNA gene whose functional annotation is mostly inferred from the molecular family to which it belongs.
