Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2446 (LINC02446) is a long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA), a subclass of long non-coding RNAs longer than 200 nucleotides that do not overlap protein-coding genes. LINC02446 has been shown to regulate the mTOR signaling pathway by binding to EIF3G, which inhibits bladder cancer cell proliferation. LincRNAs generally function in gene regulation through various mechanisms, often acting as molecular scaffolds, guides, or decoys, and can modify chromatin, affect transcription, or post-transcriptionally regulate mRNA and miRNA levels. While LINC02446 is implicated in cancer, especially bladder cancer, there is no evidence to classify it as a druggable target or established therapeutic target, and it is currently best understood as a regulator of cellular pathways rather than a receptor, enzyme, or other classical drug target.
