Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2466 (LINC02466) is a long non-coding RNA transcript with elevated expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues, and its upregulation is associated with poor prognosis and more aggressive disease features. LINC02466 drives tumor progression mainly by promoting the proliferation, cell cycle progression, and stemness of liver cancer cells, which it achieves through modulation of the mTOR signaling pathway. Silencing LINC02466 suppresses oncogenic phenotypes, supporting its candidacy as a potential molecular target and biomarker for HCC. As with most lncRNAs, LINC02466 does not encode a protein and functions primarily at the RNA level, participating in regulatory networks within the cell.
