Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2504 (LINC02504) is a human lncRNA transcript annotated as a non-coding RNA spanning more than 200 nucleotides and located in an intergenic region[1]. LINC02504 is implicated in transcriptional regulation and may act as an enhancer RNA in the activation of nearby genes, such as CPEB2, through epigenetic marks and enhancer loops[2]. Its expression is upregulated in several cancers and is associated with cell growth, proliferation, and migration in breast, colon, lung, and ovarian cancers[2]. Experimental silencing of LINC02504 leads to reduced cancer cell viability and colony formation in vitro, suggesting a possible oncogenic role. However, there are currently no approved therapeutics or interventions directly targeting this molecule, and its role is limited to basic research and as a potential cancer biomarker.
Not established for any drug. Potential target mechanism involves indirect modulation via RNA interference or gene silencing (siRNA, shRNA)[2].
