Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2598 (LINC02598) is a long non-coding RNA located on chromosome 13 (locus 13q14.11), known primarily by the abbreviation LINC02598 and also as RP11-277P12.9[3][5]. As a long non-coding RNA (>200 nt, with no coding potential), it does not encode a protein but plays a regulatory role at the transcriptional level. Notably, LINC02598 has been shown to regulate the transcription of genes related to the cell cycle, especially cyclin D2 (CCND2), by modulating the accessibility and interaction of transcription factors such as FoxO1 at the CCND2 promoter[1].
