Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2720 (LINC02720) is a long non-coding RNA gene located in the human genome and transcribed into a non-coding RNA longer than 200 nucleotides[1][3][7]. LincRNAs, by definition, do not encode proteins, but instead participate in regulating cellular functions such as chromatin remodeling, transcriptional regulation, and maintaining RNA stability. These molecules often exhibit tissue-specific expression and fine-tune the activity of nearby genes through a variety of mechanisms[5][9]. Although certain long non-coding RNAs (such as HOTAIR or XIST) are linked to specific diseases or can function as therapeutic targets or biomarkers, there is currently no published evidence linking LINC02720 itself to direct disease roles, recognized drug targeting, biomarker utility, or safety concerns, nor is it classified as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other canonical therapeutic target as of September 2025[1][7]. If more specific disease roles, interacting drugs, or biomarker functionality for LINC02720 are identified in future research, these fields should be updated accordingly.
