Overview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2725 (LINC02725) is a human long intergenic non-protein coding RNA (lincRNA), which is a type of long non-coding RNA located outside of protein-coding regions.[1][3] LincRNAs such as LINC02725 are typically more than 200 nucleotides long and modulate gene expression by diverse mechanisms including chromatin remodeling, scaffolding of protein complexes, and cis- or trans-regulation of transcription. LINC02725 itself has been identified in cancer-related transcriptomic studies, and its expression level has been included in multi-lncRNA signatures predictive for patient prognosis in breast cancer, though its precise biological role and mechanistic function are not yet well characterized.[4][3]
