Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2729 (LINC02729) is a member of the long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA) family, which refers to RNA molecules longer than 200 nucleotides that do not code for proteins and are transcribed from regions of the genome that do not overlap with protein-coding genes[3][1][7]. LINC02729, like other lincRNAs, is thought to play diverse roles in regulating gene expression, including chromatin modification, transcriptional control, RNA stabilization, and possibly enhancer-like regulatory activities[3][7].
