Overview
LINC02798 (Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2798) is a long non-coding RNA located on chromosome 1 in humans[1][3][5][7]. It does not encode a protein and falls into the lncRNA family. LINC02798 has been identified as part of a gene signature involved in the regulation of pyroptosis, a form of programmed cell death linked to inflammation and cancer[6]. Its expression level is lower in colorectal cancer tissue compared to normal tissue, and it has prognostic value: higher levels are associated with better overall survival in patients with colorectal cancer[6]. This suggests LINC02798 may play a protective biological function or serve as an indicator of immune activity in the tumor microenvironment, and it may help predict efficacy of immunotherapy. There are currently no known drugs directly targeting LINC02798, and its molecular mechanism is still under study[6].
