Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2870 (LINC02870) is a non-coding RNA gene located on human chromosome 10 (C10orf91) that encodes a small protein, ERSP. LINC02870/ERSP is highly expressed in triple-negative breast cancer tissues, contributing to cancer progression by inducing ER stress and activating the IRE1α/XBP1s branch of the unfolded protein response, promoting nuclear accumulation of XBP1s and expression of stress-response genes. Elevated levels of LINC02870 or ERSP are associated with poor cancer prognosis, making them potential therapeutic targets and biomarkers.
