Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 2936 (LINC02936) is a human long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located on chromosome 2 and acts primarily within the cell nucleus. It promotes the progression of endometrial carcinoma by suppressing ferroptosis, mainly through interaction with the transcription factor SIX1 and regulation of the downstream effector CP (ceruloplasmin). Elevated LINC02936 expression is linked to increased tumor growth, invasion, and poor prognosis in EC. Its molecular action is relatively specific to cancer progression and ferroptosis suppression, with both mechanistic and clinical implications for endometrial carcinoma
Long non-coding RNA acts by binding to the transcription factor SIX1, which in turn increases CP (ceruloplasmin) expression, reducing intracellular Fe²⁺ and ROS and suppressing ferroptosis in EC cells, thereby promoting tumor progression
