Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 304 (LINC00304) is a human long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 16 (16q24.2), classified as an intergenic lncRNA. LINC00304 does not encode a protein. Functional studies have shown that LINC00304 is upregulated in prostate cancer and promotes cell cycle progression and proliferation, potentially by regulating key cell cycle genes such as CCNA1, and is regulated by androgen receptor signaling. Differential expression of LINC00304 has also been linked to immune-mediated disorders; it is elevated in ankylosing spondylitis and reduced in rheumatoid arthritis compared to controls, suggesting disease-specific involvement. Current evidence supports its role as a biomarker for several diseases, particularly cancer and inflammatory disorders, but there is no evidence indicating it is a receptor, enzyme, or direct drug target at this time.
