Overview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 309 (LINC00309, also known as NCRNA00309) is a human long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 2p14[1][3][7]. It does not encode a protein but has been implicated in disease processes. Elevated LINC00309 expression is associated with poor disease-free survival in breast cancer, especially in hormone receptor–positive subtypes, and may serve as an independent prognostic biomarker for recurrence in breast cancer patients undergoing endocrine therapy[2]. LINC00309 is also down-regulated in osteoarthritis tissues, suggesting potential involvement as a biomarker or regulator in joint disease[4]. Its molecular functions and direct mechanisms are not fully elucidated, and there are currently no approved drugs directly targeting this RNA.
