Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 3140 (LINC03140), referred to as lincRNA-JADE or lncRNA-JADE, is a regulatory non-coding RNA located in a genomic desert between protein-coding genes[2]. It has a critical role in transcriptional activation of Jade1, a key factor in histone acetylation, particularly during the DNA damage response. lincRNA-JADE interacts with BRCA1 and contributes to recruitment of coactivators, positively regulating histone H4 acetylation and, consequently, influencing gene expression. In pathological contexts, such as breast cancer, lincRNA-JADE is upregulated and appears to facilitate cancer cell proliferation, suggesting a modulatory—rather than direct—role in disease biology[1][2].
Not applicable, as there are no drugs with a defined mechanism acting on this RNA. Its role is as a regulator influencing chromatin acetylation and gene transcription[1][2].
