Overview

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 322 (LINC00322) is a member of the lincRNA (long intergenic non-coding RNA) class, defined as autonomously transcribed RNA longer than 200 nucleotides that does not overlap with protein-coding genes[3]. LINC00322 is annotated primarily as a non-coding RNA gene and is known by multiple aliases including C21orf136, NCRNA00322, and FLJ16545. Like other lincRNAs, members of this class function in diverse cellular roles—including gene regulation, chromatin remodeling, transcriptional regulation, and stabilization of transcripts—and may participate in tissue-specific regulatory processes[3]. While many lincRNAs have been implicated in cancer and other diseases, there is currently no direct literature or drug evidence that LINC00322 itself is a therapeutic target, biomarker, or direct mediator of disease. Thus, it is not classified as a therapeutic receptor, enzyme, or transport protein, and drug interactions or mechanisms of action have not been specifically identified for this RNA. If more specific disease or pharmacological roles for LINC00322 are discovered, or if it becomes validated as a drug target, these structured entries should be reconsidered. At present, it remains a non-coding RNA with putative regulatory functions[3].
