Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 323 (LINC00323) is a long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA), a type of long non-coding RNA longer than 200 nucleotides and not overlapping protein-coding loci[5]. LINC00323 is aberrantly upregulated in several cancers, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), gastric cancer, and breast cancer, where it is associated with poor prognosis, tumor proliferation, cell migration, vascular mimicry, and microvessel density[2][3][4]. Mechanistically, LINC00323 interacts with AKAP1, reducing its ubiquitination and stabilizing its protein level, contributing to oncogenic processes such as angiogenesis and metastasis in cancer cells[2]. Its expression level has been studied as a prognostic biomarker but there are no known direct drug interactions or therapies targeting LINC00323 to date[2][3][4]. It is not a conventional therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter, but it is considered a candidate biomarker and a putative target for future cancer therapy development[2][4].
