Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 334 (LINC00334, also known as C21orf89 or NCRNA00334) is a member of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) family, specifically the long intergenic non-coding RNAs (lincRNAs)[1][5]. LincRNAs are defined as autonomously transcribed non-coding RNAs longer than 200 nucleotides, arising from regions in the genome that do not overlap with annotated protein-coding genes[1][5]. These RNAs can regulate gene expression at the transcriptional and epigenetic level, often displaying tissue-specific functions. LincRNAs may participate in chromatin remodeling, RNA stability regulation, or act as scaffolds or decoys in gene regulatory networks, though the specific biological roles of many individual lincRNAs, including LINC00334, remain incompletely characterized[1][5]. There is currently no evidence that LINC00334 functions as a protein, enzyme, receptor, transporter, or other classical drug target. Likewise, there are no reported roles in human disease, drug interactions, or use as a biomarker in the scientific literature. This reflects the general status of many lincRNAs, where functions are putative rather than experimentally validated for individual members like LINC00334[1][5].
