Overview

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 362 (LINC00362) is a human long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA). LINC00362 does not encode a protein but is classified as a lincRNA because it is transcribed from genomic regions that do not overlap protein-coding genes. LincRNAs are generally over 200 nucleotides in length and have been implicated in a variety of regulatory functions in the cell. They may regulate gene expression at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level, often acting through interaction with chromatin modifiers, transcription factors, or other proteins[5][7][9]. While some lincRNAs have well-characterized roles in cancer, gene regulation, or epigenetics, the specific biological function, clinical relevance, or disease association of LINC00362 is not currently well-established. There is no evidence that it acts as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or classical therapeutic target, nor that it has known drug interactions or proven biomarker status[1][3][5]. Thus, it is primarily considered a part of the non-coding transcriptome with possible but as yet uncharacterized regulatory roles[5][7][9].
