Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 398 (LINC00398, also known as LINC00545) is a member of the long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA) family, which are RNA molecules longer than 200 nucleotides located in genome regions that do not overlap with protein-coding genes. LincRNAs are broadly involved in the regulation of gene expression, often acting through modulation of chromatin structure, transcription, or RNA processing; however, the precise function of LINC00398 itself has not been clearly characterized in the available literature.
