Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 456 (LINC00456)

LINC00456 (Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 456) is a member of the lincRNA class—non-protein-coding RNAs located between coding genes, longer than 200 nucleotides, and not overlapping known protein-coding regions. LincRNAs, including LINC00456, are generally thought to regulate chromatin structure, modulate gene expression at the transcriptional and possibly post-transcriptional levels, and play roles in fine-tuning cellular processes, often in a tissue- or context-specific manner.
