Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 472 (LINC00472) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 6q13. It is transcribed as a non-protein coding transcript and has been implicated in a diverse range of biological functions, particularly as a tumor suppressor in multiple cancer types including breast, lung, liver, and others. LINC00472 also plays significant roles in non-cancer diseases, such as neuropathic pain, osteoarthritis, atherosclerosis, and liver injury.
