Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 494 (LINC00494) is a long non-coding RNA found to be upregulated in ovarian cancer tissues. It promotes cancer cell migration, invasion, and tumorigenesis primarily by modulating the transcription factor NFκB1, leading to decreased expression of the E3 ubiquitin ligase FBXO32. Experimental knockdown of LINC00494 reverses malignant phenotypes, suggesting it is an oncogenic lncRNA and a potential therapeutic target. Its main molecular classification is as a long non-coding RNA, and its clinical detection may offer value as a diagnostic or prognostic biomarker in ovarian and potentially other cancers
