Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 557 (LINC00557) is a human long intergenic non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 13q32[3][5][7]. LINC00557, like other lincRNAs, does not encode a protein but may play a role in the regulation of gene expression and chromatin modifications, especially in the nucleus[9]. The biological function of LINC00557 itself is not yet characterized, but lincRNAs are known to be involved in a variety of cellular processes, including transcriptional regulation and cancer progression[9]. There is no evidence for LINC00557 being a therapeutic target or being directly involved in drug interactions, nor is it used as a clinical biomarker at present[1][3][5][7][9][11].
