Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 562 (LINC00562) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), a type of RNA molecule longer than 200 nucleotides that does not encode a protein[7][1][3]. LINC00562 is overexpressed in gastric cancer tissues and cell lines, where it acts as an oncogenic regulator by promoting cell proliferation and migration and inhibiting apoptosis[2]. Mechanistically, it functions as a competing endogenous RNA that binds to and sequesters miR-4636, thereby activating downstream targets such as AP1S3, which are involved in malignant cell behaviors[2]. Its role is being investigated as a biomarker and possible therapeutic target in cancer research, but there are no drugs directly targeting LINC00562 in clinical use and it is not a conventional therapeutic target type such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter[2][1].
