Overview

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 570 (LINC00570) is a human long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located on chromosome 2 (2p25), transcribed from the positive strand. It is an intergenic transcript with multiple annotated isoforms. LINC00570 is involved in the regulation of gene expression, chromatin organization, and cellular biological processes such as proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and invasion. It may function through ceRNA mechanisms, interacting with microRNAs to modulate downstream gene expression, and is implicated in the regulation of key signaling pathways such as Wnt/β-catenin. LINC00570 has been identified in studies of cardiovascular disease, heart failure, and type 2 diabetes, with altered expression linked to these disease phenotypes. Despite its biological significance, it is not currently recognized as a classic therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter, and no approved drugs are known to interact directly with LINC00570.

Mechanism of action

Acts as a modulator of gene expression, possibly through interaction with chromatin and acting as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) for microRNAs; May indirectly influence cellular pathways by regulating other gene products

03

Biological functions

Regulation of gene expressionChromatin organizationModulation of cell proliferationModulation of apoptosisPossible role in cell migration and invasion
04

Disease associations

Cancer (suggested by involvement in proliferation and migratory processes)Cardiovascular disease (e.g., implicated in heart failure, myocardial inflammation)Diabetes (identified as differentially expressed in type 2 diabetes)Other (regulatory roles in transcriptional networks)

Biomarkers

May be a biomarker for heart failure and cardiovascular disease progression (differential expression linked to cardiac function)Potential biomarker for type 2 diabetes (demonstrated altered expression in patient cohorts)
