Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 598 (LINC00598) is a human long non-coding RNA located on chromosome 13q14.11 that does not code for a protein[2][6][8]. It is involved in the regulation of CCND2 transcription and modulation of the G1 checkpoint in the cell cycle, and may play a role in oncogenesis, particularly breast cancer[1][3][7]. Although LINC00598 is associated with disease mechanisms and gene expression regulation, it is not currently classified as a therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or similar class[3][5].
