As with many lincRNAs, it is thought to participate in the regulation of gene expression and cellular homeostasis, and abnormal expression or function of LINC00616 may be associated with disease, particularly in the context of cancer and other cell-proliferation-related diseases[5]. However, there are currently no approved drugs directly targeting this molecule, nor is it classified as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or typical therapeutic target[3][5].
