Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 636 (LINC00636) is a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) located on chromosome 3, which does not code for proteins but is implicated in the regulation of gene expression and cellular processes[1][5][3]. It has been found to modulate apoptosis, proliferation, migration, and invasion in various cell types, and to play a role in pathological processes such as cardiac fibrosis—by influencing the miR-450a-2-3p/MAPK1 signaling cascade—and in cancer[2][6]. LINC00636 is present in human pericardial fluid exosomes, may serve as a regulatory molecule in cardiovascular remodeling, and has potential utility as a biomarker in both cardiac disease and oncology research[2][6]. No therapeutics are currently known to target LINC00636 directly.
